Frequently Asked Questions

Who are you?

We are Resource Financial of Tacoma, LLC, and we work on behalf of people who have suffered through the foreclosure process. We know you've been through the wringer already... we take the headache and financial burden off of you, and we navigate the often complicated claims process and fight in court on your behalf to get your overage money released to you.

What is this 'overage' you talk about, and how does this happen?

After the bank forecloses on your house, they sell it at an auction to satisfy the remainder of your loan. Investors compete to win the property and sometimes the winning bid is higher than the outstanding balance you owed. After the bank is paid back, and any other liens that were placed on your property are satisfied, the rest of the money goes into a trustee's bank account and rightfully belongs to the previous owner... YOU.

How do I know this is not a scam?

Resource Financial of Tacoma, LLC will never ask you for money, or for any of your financial information. We won't ask you to cover any costs we incur in pursuit of your case, and we will never send you a bill for our services. These overages are not "Free" money, this is equity that was left over after the sale of your home. We will be able to track down exactly where the money came from and where it is being held, and we can show you all the details we discover along the way. We don't get paid until we successfully get your money released to you.

Where is your company located, and what if I live in a different State?

Resource Financial of Tacoma, LLC is registered in the State of Washington, but we are able to assist clients who live just about anywhere in the United States. We contract with lawyers and mobile notaries in your area, and cover all of the costs so you don't have to come out of pocket for anything.

How did you find me?

Our researchers audit public records to find foreclosure sales and the previous owners who likely have overage money due back to them.

Can't I just claim the money myself? Why do I need you?

You absolutely could do this all by yourself, BUT the claims process can be complicated and daunting if you don't know where to start. We have a dedicated researcher and a claims coordinator who are good at ferreting out who to contact and what specific type of paperwork is needed. Every county has different regulations and processes, but we've been doing this for a while, and we have streamlined the process, so you don't have to struggle needlessly. We find and hire lawyers to go to court for you, and we pay all the costs up front so you can keep your money in your pocket. Also, many counties have limited the amount of time you have to claim funds before they are released to the government as 'abandoned property,' so you may not have extra time to waste on all the research.

People work with us because we have knowledge and experience in this industry and because there is literally no risk for our clients. We assume all the financial risk of pursuing your case for you. If for some reason we are not able to get your money for you, we absorb the cost of hiring the lawyers, notaries and drafting all the legal paperwork with no compensation.

How exactly do you get compensated? What's the catch?

Resource Financial of Tacoma, LLC works on a contingency basis, which means we only get compensated if we can get you your money back. If the recovery is successful, we’ll gather a portion of the proceeds… just enough to recover our investment and keep the lights on, but the vast majority of your funds go into your pocket where they belong. You will never pay anything out of pocket for this service – even if we are not successful. We front all the costs and take on the risk. If we can't unlock your money, we lose whatever cost we've put into the pursuit, but you still don't owe anything. There is absolutely nothing to lose.
